Computational Science Certificate

Why Study Computational Science?

Modern science, medicine, and engineering increasingly rely on modeling and data analysis to explore the natural world, build, and solve problems. Given this critical importance, computational modeling has been and will continue to play a central role in new developments of the 21st century. ​This asynchronous certificate program is an excellent opportunity to gain in a computational career. This unique opportunity allows students to start building essential skills and knowledge early, giving them a head start in this rapidly growing field. Students must successfully complete an exit project for all the courses to be eligible for the certificate.

Introduction to Data Science

Designed for beginners, this unique course will introduce students to the world of data, statistics and R language.

Introduction to Scientific Programming

This course introduces students to basic Unix/Linus commands and then the Python and Shell scripting for scientific purposes.

Molecular Modelling 

This course introduces students to computational chemistry and provides hands-on learning opportunity for quantum mechanical and molecular dynamics based computer simulations.
