PharmaHacks 2025

PharmaHacks 2025 is a online, team-based educational challenge designed to introduce high school students to the field of computational drug design. Participants will compete to solve a real-world-inspired scientific challenge with professional software tools.

The event emphasizes learning, creativity, teamwork, and scientific communication. No prior experience is required.

Who Can Participate

  • High school students (Grades 9–12)

  • Interest in science, technology, medicine, or computing is encouraged

  • Teams of two students

Tools Used

  • ADMETLab 3.0

  • Avogadro

  • Open Babel

Note: The detailed challenge workflow and evaluation process will be explained live during the instruction and demo session on the event day.

  • Hands-on exposure to computational drug design tools

  • Experience solving a real-world-inspired scientific challenge

  • Team-based problem solving and communication skills

Event Format

  • Free to participate. Zoom link will be shared with registrants before the event. 

  • Two-day format:

    • January 10: Instructions and demo at 10 -11 am

    • January 10: Challenge period at 11 am - 2 pm

    • January 11: Presentation submission deadline at 10 am

    • January 11: Results announcement and Winner Team Presentation at 2 pm

Prizes

  • First Place: $300 + Certificate + Priority consideration for MTI internships

  • Second Place: $200 + Certificate + Priority consideration

  • Third Place: $100 + Certificate + Priority consideration
