Student Intern Salman Siddiqi
Salman, our former student intern has been accepted to Stanford University! Salman plans to pursue an MD/PhD, combining advanced training in chemistry with a focus on clinical and computational biology.

During his internship, Salman demonstrated strong interdisciplinary curiosity and a commitment to solve complex biomedical problems. His acceptance to Stanford reflects both his academic excellence and the passion he brought to his work with us.

We are excited to see Salman continue his journey and make meaningful contributions at the intersection of science, medicine, and computation. Congratulations!

Which program did your student participate in at MTI?
ADMET Exploration and Stability Calculations of FDA-approved Type 2 Diabetes Drugs
Please tell us about your student's experience in our summer internship program.
My son, Ganghee, had a very meaningful experience in the summer program. Since his brother has Type 1 diabetes, Ganghee already had some knowledge about the condition, but it hadn’t fully resonated with him. This program allowed him to dive deeper into the subject, sparking a genuine interest and inspiring him further. When he completed the program, he told me it was fascinating and that it has made him reconsider his path and potential major in college.
Would you recommend the program to other high school students?
Yes, absolutely! Students will begin with the excitement of being accepted into a prestigious program and will finish with a clearer sense of direction for what they want to study in college.
Student Intern Ramez Hassanen
In August 2024, Ramez joined thousands of researchers at the ACS Meeting in Denver, where he presented his research conducted at MTI. His participation was fully funded as part of an all-expenses-paid trip. What a great opportunity! Congratulations, Ramez! We extend our thanks to ACS Project Seed program for the grant.

"I’m delighted to share some wonderful news: your internship student, Erkam, who was previously on the waiting list for the Prince William County Governor’s School, has been accepted into the Chemistry strand!
Thank you both for the opportunity, inspiration, and the support letter you provided. Your guidance made a real difference.
We truly appreciate everything you have done for Erkam!"

Student Intern Akshay Krishnan
Akshay succesfully presented their research work at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2025 on April 7-9, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. Congratulations, Akshay!

Student Intern Ekrem Kaya
In Summer 2021, Ekrem Kaya (a HS student then) presented his research with an undergraduate student Jenny Mendis at the Posters at the Hill Program by CUR. He continued to work hard on his project after the internship and became a co-author on a peer reviewed scientific journal as a high school student. His publication was an excellent addition to his proven academic success, which earned him a substantial amount of scholarship (over $124K) from GMU.
